BIC Entry Requirements
There are three ways to enrol in the BIC:
- HSC
- Internal Transfer
- International
Higher School Certificate
Applications need to be made through the University Admission Centre (UAC)

Entry Requirements - Internal Transfers (Current MQ Students)
Only students enrolled in the Bachelor of Media or the Bachelor of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies may transfer into a Bachelor in International Communication degree, provided they meet the following requirements:
- Completion of At least 18 credit points;
- Completion of ICOM100, ICOM101. CUL 100 and MAS 104;
- An overall GPA of 2.5;
To apply for transfer students are to obtain the policy and application form 'Request to Transfer Course' from the web (www.registrar.mq.edu.au/academic-index.html) or from the student Enquiry Service in December or July. Attached to the form is the MQ Internal Transfer Policy that sets out the criteria for each undergraduate degree that has a policy. The documents should be completed and returned to the Student Enquiry Service (Ph: 9850 6410). In Semester One transfer forms need to be submitted by
- 11th January for students wanting to be processed by February enrolment
- 11th March at the latest for students wanting to transfer in Semester 1
Semester 2 dates for submitting the forms will be available soon after release of first semester results. Check with the Student Enquiry Service closer to that time.
International Applications
Non-resident and international students can apply to study the BIC via the application process set out through the International Office at Macquarie University. Check the application process at http://www.international.mq.edu.au/
